Scout is a prompt-builder app. This page explains what we collect, why we collect it, where it lives, who we share it with, and how you can delete it. We try to keep this short and plain. If anything below is unclear, email us at privacy@example.com.
What we collect
- Account email. Required so we can sign you in via magic link and contact you about your account.
- Optional profile. If you choose to fill it in: name, gender, age range, household, employment, interests, city, ZIP code, country, and your default AI platform. All optional. You can leave any field blank or change it later from your profile page.
- Usage data.Counts of prompts you've generated this month, token counts (input, output, cached) used by the language model on your behalf, and timestamps for billing and rate-limit purposes.
- Prompts and conversations. The back-and-forth chat you have with Scout, the final prompt we generate for you, and any prompts you save to your library. We store these so you can return to them later and so we can improve the prompts we generate.
- Billing identifiers. If you upgrade to Pro, Stripe gives us a customer ID and subscription ID. We don't see or store your card details โ Stripe handles all of that.
Why we collect it
- To run the prompt-builder and generate prompts for you.
- To personalize Scout's suggestions based on what you've told us about yourself (only if you've filled out the optional profile).
- To enforce free-tier limits and bill Pro subscribers.
- To debug problems and improve the service. We may review aggregated patterns in how prompts are built; we don't sell your data or use it to train external models.
Where it lives
Your data is stored in a managed PostgreSQL database, encrypted at rest by the hosting provider. Connections to the database use TLS. We don't back data up to third-party locations beyond the database provider's own redundant storage.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your data and we don't share it with marketers or ad networks. The only third parties that touch your data are service providers we need to run the app:
- Stripe โ payment processing and subscription billing. Stripe receives your email and billing details directly.
- Resend โ sends the magic-link emails you use to sign in. Resend sees your email address and the contents of that email.
- Anthropicโ powers the Scout language model. The contents of your conversations with Scout are sent to Anthropic to generate responses, subject to Anthropic's API data-use terms.
Your rights
- Delete your account at any time. Visit /settings and use the Danger Zone. Deleting your account removes your profile, prompt history, and saved prompts immediately. If you have a Pro subscription, we cancel it on Stripe at the same time.
- Honor period. We process deletion requests within 30 days. In practice it's instant via the in-app button โ the 30-day window is for any backup-residue cleanup or out-of-band requests sent to privacy@example.com.
- Access & correction. You can view and edit your profile from /profile. If you want a copy of your data, email privacy@example.comand we'll send you what we have.
Cookies & sessions
We set one cookie when you sign in: a signed session token that keeps you logged in for 30 days. We don't use third-party tracking cookies or analytics cookies.
Children
Scout is not directed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has signed up, contact privacy@example.com and we'll remove the account.
Updates
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will bump the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If a change affects how we use existing data, we'll email account holders before it takes effect.
